The performance (monologue) will be in Italian.

Mauro Covacich was born in Trieste in 1965. He wrote the short story collection La sposa (“The Bride”, 2014, Premio Strega finalist) and worked with many publishers (Bompiani, Einaudi, Mondadori, La nave di Teseo). Among his novels, we find A perdifiato (“Breathless”, 2003), Fiona (2005), Prima di sparire (“Before Disappearing”, 2008), and A nome tuo (“In Your Name”, 2011), later adapted in the film Miele (2013), by Valeria Golino. He then wrote La città interiore (“The Inner City”, 2017, which was finalist for Premio Campiello), Di chi è questo cuore (“Whose heart is this”, 2019) and L’avventura terrestre (“The Earthly Adventure”, 2023). He also wrote and performed in three monologues, Svevo, Joyce, and Saba, all produced by the Teatro Stabile Friuli Venezia Giulia. In 1999 the University of Vienna honoured him with the Abraham Woursell Award. He lives in Rome.
