The San Basilio Waterfront Music Fest is back on 3 October: apply now and bring your music to the stage!

The San Basilio Waterfront Music Fest is back for its fourth edition — the big music celebration that brings the area between Magazzini 5 and 6 to life returns on Friday, 3 October 2025. Want to take the stage and share your music with us? Apply by 24 August 2025, and let us hear what you've got!

The San Basilio Waterfront Music Fest is a joint project by Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and the North Adriatic Sea Port Authority – Ports of Venice and Chioggia, created to showcase emerging music projects from students of Venetian universities.
Over the past editions, a variety of student acts have performed live in front of hundreds of people. And this year, you could be the star of the show!

How does the San Basilio Waterfront Music Fest work?

The evening will feature three student music projects — solo acts or bands — performing live. They’ll be preceded by a playlist curated by Radio Ca’ Foscari and followed by a DJ set by Hard Rock Café Venice.
Each act will have 30 minutes to perform their original music, with just one special exception: all selected artists will be asked to perform their own take on a song related to the sea or ports.
All logistical details will be shared with the selected artists a few weeks before the event.

Who can apply?

Solo artists must be currently enrolled at one of Venice’s universities, while bands are eligible as long as at least one member is currently enrolled at any university in Venice (not just Ca’ Foscari!). The enrollment must be active at the time you submit your application. If you applied in past editions but weren’t selected, you’re welcome to apply again. However, projects that have already performed at the festival in previous editions are not eligible.
We welcome all original live music, regardless of genre or lineup — we’re here to give everyone a chance to express their creativity.

How to apply

You’ll find all the details in the official call for applications on the Radio Ca’ Foscari website — please read it carefully. To apply, you’ll need to send tree recordings of your original tracks and one video of a performance (it doesn’t need to be professionally shot — we just want to see you in action!)
A selection committee made up of members from Radio Ca’ Foscari and the Ca’ Foscari International College will choose the projects that best fit the spirit of the event.
