The San Basilio Waterfront Music Fest is back! On October 4, 2024, three student projects will perform on the stage between Magazzino 5 and Magazzino 6. You could be one of them! The deadline to submit your application is August 26th: read the full call on Radio Ca' Foscari's page.

The festival is now in its third edition. It has previously featured performances by bands such as Befire, Dopamina, Fosca, Nesho, and singer-songwriter Michele Mari in front of audiences of over a thousand people. Once again, this year, we are looking for bands or solo projects to give them the opportunity to showcase their talent and play their music in a unique Venetian context.

How does it work?

The evening will showcase three student musical projects (band or solo), performing live for 30 minutes each. Their setlists will consist of original songs, except for one sea-themed cover of their choice.
Two DJ sets will open and close the concerts.
The selected projects will be informed of all organisational information and any program changes a few weeks before the event.

Who can participate?

Soloists: Anyone currently enrolled in a Venetian university can participate. Groups: At least one member must be enrolled in a Venetian university.
Enrolment must be active at the time of application.
If you applied in previous editions, you can participate again only if you had not been selected and performed. To give everyone the opportunity to express their creativity, all proposals of original live music will be evaluated, regardless of musical genre or group formation.

How to participate

Make sure to thoroughly read the call on Radio Ca' Foscari's page before submitting your application. Three original song recordings (written by or for the performer) and a live performance video (not necessarily of professional quality) are required for application evaluation.
A team comprising members from Radio Ca' Foscari and Ca' Foscari International College will then select the projects considered most suitable for the event.

The San Basilio Waterfront Music Fest was born from the collaboration between Ca' Foscari University of Venice and the Autorità di Sistema Portuale del Mare Adriatico Settentrionale - Porti di Venezia e Chioggia (Port Authority). The aim is to give space to students' emerging musical projects based in the Lagoon area. This year's event is also sponsored by the Alliance of Italian Superior Graduate Schools (ASSI) with the financial support of DM MUR 231/2023, and with the contribution of Hard Rock Cafe Venezia, which will be in charge of the concession stand.
