Ca’ Foscari University of Venice has participated in an Interreg Italy-Slovenia project to develop an online platform to facilitate the exchange of health-related information of Italian and Slovenian citizens in the area between Venice and Ljubljana. The project, ISE-EMH, ends in June 2022 and has been coordinated by the company Arctur (Gorizia). Other partners include Irccs Burlo Garofolo di Trieste, Polo Tecnologico Alto Adriatico di Pordenone, the Jožef Stefan Institute in Ljubljana and Robotina.

The platform is called ‘Insieme’ (Eng. ‘Together’) and aims to digitally promote high-quality healthcare services. The ISE-EMH website allows users to have access to clear, multilingual information on conditions such as cancer, skin diseases, cardiovascular diseases and COVID-19, among others. Moreover, the platform indicates which healthcare facilities are available to people seeking further information. It also allows suppliers to easily add their products and services to the platform.

“For what concerns the oncological patients we are working for, we believe it is important to offer an authoritative online source of information not only on the disease and on the facilities available, but also on the services that are offered locally for the wellbeing of patients and of their families,” says Flavio Rizzolio, professor of Molecular Biology at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. “These are aspects that we will continue to work on even after the project has come to an end.”

Ca’ Foscari has recently hosted two events in which the users of the platform were able to share their experience regarding the use of this digital tool.
