Ca' Foscari has been included in the inaugural Times Higher Education Interdisciplinary Science Rankings (ISR) and is recognised as one of the world's top 250 universities for interdisciplinary research in Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, and Physical Sciences.

The ranking features over 700 universities from 92 countries, evaluated based on their performance in interdisciplinary science research. This research focuses on the ability to integrate knowledge and processes from various fields in a complementary manner to address the complex global challenges we face today.

The ranking measures university performance in three areas: inputs (funding); process (facilities, administrative support and promotion) and outputs (publications, research quality and reputation).

Ca' Foscari University of Venice is distinguished by the research conducted in its two scientific departments: the Department of Environmental Sciences, Informatics and Statistics, and the Department of Molecular Sciences and Nanosystems. Our university particularly excels in the quantity, quality, and reputation of its interdisciplinary publications (outputs), which scored 48 points. The other factors considered are the ability to attract funding (scoring 37.1), and the effectiveness of research support structures and services, (33.3).

The ranking is based on data collected directly from universities as well as bibliometric data from Elsevier.
