Develop the skills of those working in the live entertainment world, to grasp new professional opportunities in the profound transformation of this sector. It is the goal of Dedalus, a project developed by Ca’ Foscari University and funded by the Veneto Region which is open to all professionals in the world of the performing arts (theater, cinema, dance, music) and aims to improve technical, artistic and managerial skills.

The project, managed by the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, is the result of the first structured collaboration between The Management of Arts and Culture Lab (maclab) and Teatro Ca' Foscari.

The live entertainment industry in Veneto, according to latest available data, counts 7,457 employees, a decrease in the period 2011- 2013 of 2.7%, largely based on artistic figures.

On the other hand, however, we are seeing increasing demand and interest, on the part of businesses in all sectors, with regard to 'creative people' and operators who can manage multimedia content. New opportunities are opening up for executive producers and festival managers, while claiming professionals as the 'corporate video storyteller', the 'live entertainment marketing manager', the 'site specific performer', and the 'dance trainer', capable of training and consulting in enterprises through theatrical techniques.

This is ensured by Dedalus, who will propose a sequence of courses in 2017 for small classes of professionals in meetings and workshops as well as visits abroad.

The project’s website will soon be accessible online.
