After winning medals in the last competition, Ca’ Foscari University of Venice is confirmed as one of the eight Italian universities that will, alongside the best universities in the world, take part in the CFA Research Challenge 2016/2017. The objective now is to win the title of the best team of financial analysts.

The 11th CFA Institute Research Challenge has officially begun, the competition involving universities and students from all over the world to compete for the title of the best team of future financial analysts.

CFA Society Italy, affiliated with the CFA Institute – the global association that reunites account managers, analysts, financial consultants, professors and other professionals of the financial world – organizes the Italian qualification round, in collaboration with FactSet, Fidelity International and PwC.

This year, the subject for financial analysis will be Recordati, an international pharmaceutical group dedicated to research, development, production and commercialization of pharmaceutical products. The organization, based in Milan, operates in the main European countries, Russia and other countries in Central and Eastern Europe, Turkey, North Africa and the United States.

The Ca’ Foscari team that will take part in the Italian qualification round, taking place in Milan, is made up of four Economics and Finance students from the Department of Economics and one Business Administration student from the Department of Management.

Leading these students - Elia Palesa, Deborah Manfron, Eranda Musli, Stefano Vaccher and Yauheniya Klemantovich – are professors Monica Billio, Gloria Gardenal and Elisa Cavezzali, as well as their mentor Lorenzo Rigamonti, a professional from Cfa Society Italy, who has made his own expertise available for the business markets and analyses that the students had to develop.

The Italian challenge sees at the starting blocks eight teams representing the leading universities in the fields of economics and finance: Bocconi University, Università Cattolica di Milano, the Milan Polytechnic University, Ca’ Foscari University,  the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, the University of Pavia, the Libera Università di Bolzano and the Polytechnic University of the Marche.

The winning team from the Italian round - which takes place on 27th March in Milan at the PwC offices – will have the opportunity to participate in the EMEA regional final in Prague on 26th and 27th April. The global final, in which the winner of the European final will be joined by the winning teams of the Asia, Pacific and America regions, will take place in Prague on 28th April 2017.
