Roberto Pastres is Associate Professor of Environmental Chemistry at the Department of Physical Chemistry (Università Ca' Foscari di Venezia).

Born in Venice, he graduated with honours in Industrial Chemistry in 1987 and obtained the PhD in Chemical Sciences in 1991.

He started his academic career in 1993, as a lecturer, and became Associate Professor at the Science Faculty of the University of Venice in 2000.

He currently teaches "Physical Chemistry" and "Mathematical tools for environmental scientist" to environmental science students.

Since 1987, his research activity has mainly concerned the development of mathematical models for the analysis of transport, chemical and biological processes in coastal water bodies.

More recently, his scientific interests have turned toward the modelling of bioaccumulation processes and sustainable aquacolture.
