SHORT BIO
Giulia Cancellieri is Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in the Department of Management at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. Giulia’s research interests include creativity and innovation, social processes of legitimation in cultural industries, strategic management and marketing of cultural organizations. Her research has been presented at various academic conferences, including the Academy of Management, the Strategic Management Society and the International Conference on Arts and Cultural Management. Her works have been accepted for publication in international journals and books, including Strategic Management Journal, MIT Sloan Management Review, Journal of Consumer Culture, International Journal of Arts Management and Handbook of Innovation and Project Management, among others. She obtained three Best Conference Paper Awards at the International Conference on Arts and Cultural Management (years 2013, 2015 and 2019), the world leader in research on cultural organizations. In November 2022, her paper on the strategic management of tradition in cultural industries published in Strategic Management Journal received the 2nd prize at the EBS Best Paper Award on Innovation, Corporate Entrepreneurship and Transformation.

2019 – present Participation to the research project “Omnivorous cultural consumption and the co-creation of cultural products”, with Prof. Francesco Casarin (Università Ca’ Foscari, Venezia) and Michele Bonazzi (Università di Ferrara). The project is part of the research activities of Maclab (Management, Arts and Culture Laboratory – Università Ca’ Foscari, Venezia). The development of the project has led to the publication of an article in the Journal of Consumer Culture (Anvur ranking A, ABS 3).
February 2017 – March 2018 Participation to the research activities of CeRIIS International Center for Research on Social Innovation (LUISS Guido Carli) with Professor Matteo Giuliano Caroli (LUISS Guido Carli). The development of this project has led to the publication of three book chapters published in CeRIIS “Evidenze sull’Innovazione Sociale e Sostenibilità in Italia” in collaboration with LUISS Business School and ItaliaCamp.
