Silvia Panfilo, Ph.D., is Associate Professor in Accounting at Venice School of Management (VSM) where she teaches several accounting classes both at bachelor and master level.

She has been visiting professor in Accounting at American University (Washington DC, USA) and at Krakow Economics University (Krakow, PL). During her Ph.D. she has been visiting researcher at the North Carolina State University (Raleigh, USA) where she collaborated with the Accounting Department and the research centre Enterprise Risk Management Initiative.

She was awarded at the AIDEA annual conference Emerging Scholar Colloquium 2017 for the Best Paper Award.

Former post-doc in Accounting at LIUC University (2021) and Ca' Foscari University (from 2018 to 2020).

She obtained her bachelor degree in Business Administration (110/110 with honor) and her master degree in Business Administration and Corporate Law (110/110 with honor) at University of Verona. She has also a Master in Management Sciences and a Ph.D. in Management at Ca' Foscari University. 

She's member of many national and international academic association (e.g. AIDEA, SIDREA, American Accounting Association, European Accounting Association, European Risk Research Network, B Academics) and she participates to their national and international annual conferences.

She is also founder and member of the scientific committee of the Sustainability Lab of the VSM: https://www.sustainabilitylab.eu

Research interests: Risk disclosure, Enterprise Risk Management, Sustainability accounting, Corporate Governance, Integrated Reporting, Accounting History.
