Interview

1. Please provide a brief outline of your training and scientific activity.

My higher education was pursued at Paris Universities, with a PhD in law, the diploma of SciencesPo, and a
degree in German literature and language.
He was a member of the working group that produced the reports Fundamental Treaty for the European
Union (EUI-Centre Robert Schuman, 15 May 2000) and Reforming the Procedures for Revising the Treaties,
31 July 2000. He was an expert for the Committee of the Regions during the European Convention (2002-
2003) and a legal expert for the Action Committee for European Democracy (Amato group) 2006-2007). He
has carried out numerous works for the European Parliament, the European Commission and the
Committee of the Regions of the European Union.
My training activity has covered mainly teaching Comparative public law and public institutions, and
European Law at French, European and Italian Universities. Both have an important historical component
which is relevant to teaching History of European Constitutionalism.

2. Please state your reasons for choosing Venice and the Department for your research and teaching stay.

Ca Foscari University has an excellent reputation both as regards the quality of students and that of
research.
I have already been invited as Visiting Professor di chiara fama to teach the European Union Law in March-
April 2024, in the framework of the Course of RELAZIONI INTERNAZIONALI COMPARATE. I had an excellent
experience with students, colleagues and the staff of the Departments in charge of managing the Course.

3. Have you ever had a research collaboration with the teaching staff of Department of Linguistics and
Comparative Cultural Studies in the past?

Although I know quite well some colleagues of teaching staff of Department of Linguistics and Comparative
Cultural Studies, I have not yet had the opportunity of a research collaboration, but I hope to develop it,
amongst other because I am working quite a lot on the use of artificial intelligence for translation in the
European Union
