IELTS
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is the most prestigious and widely used English language certification, recognised worldwide by over 11,000 universities, professional bodies, institutions and organisations, including about 3,400 American colleges and universities.
On average 60,000 people per week choose to take an IELTS test when they need to demonstrate the level of their English for work or study reasons, or to live in an English-speaking country.
As an IELTS centre, the CLA offers both types of test available:
- IELTS Academic: measures whether your level of English language proficiency is suitable for an academic environment. It reflects aspects of academic language and evaluates whether you’re ready to begin training or studying.
- IELTS General Training: measures English language proficiency in a practical, everyday context. The tasks and tests reflect both workplace and social situations.
Candidates who are registered on courses at Ca' Foscari or the CLA pay a reduced test enrolment fee.

Enrolment and fees
Students enrolled at Ca' Foscari
- Pre-enrol by filling in the online form
- Within 24 hours of filling in the form, you will receive, at the email address indicated, the link to register for the date, time and type of test (Academic or General) that you choose, provided places are available
- Once you have obtained the link (as per point 2), follow the instructions below for enrolment at a reduced rate and subsequent payment
External candidates
- Enrol online, choose "Venice" and follow the steps to complete enrolment and proceed to payment

IELTS computer-delivered test: test structure and simulation
