Tuition fees for BA and MA degrees - a.y. 2021/2022
Students enrolled in the second or successive subsequent year of their studies in the academic year 2021/2022 should refer to the tuition fee table below:

You are in any case required to request the ISEE (Equivalent Economic Situation Indicator) certification for "concessions for the right to university study", to complete and send the request for benefit application in your reserved area and to register for the academic year within the deadlines set by the University

The tuition fees listed above do not apply to:
- students beneficiary or the child of beneficiaries of a disability pension, established by art.12 of Italian Law 118/71, as provided for by art.30 of the same law;
- foreign students beneficiary of a scholarship from the Italian Government under the development cooperation programs.
- students having a refugee status with residence permit as asylum seekers.
The students belonging to these categories are only required to pay stamp duty and regional tax for the right to education.
Students with a disability rated at 66 percent or above or with a disability recognised under article 3 paragraph 1 of the Italian law of 5 February 1992, n. 104 are only required to pay stamp duty.
NB: If you are enrolled in your first supplementary year and you have an ISEE below 30,001 EUR and you have acquired at least 25 ECTs (credits effectively registered in your student’s record book) between 11 August 2020 and 10 August 2021, you will be eligible to pay the tuition fees introduced by the "Student Act", which are listed below:
- ISEE from 0 to 13,000 EUR: all-inclusive tuition fee of 200.00 EUR
- ISEE from 13,001 to 25,500 EUR: all-inclusive tuition fee ranging from 200.00 EUR to 1,312.00 EUR;
- ISEE from 25,501 EUR to 30,000 EUR: all-inclusive tuition fee ranging from 1,312,00 EUR to 1,530.00 EUR.
A simulator is available thruogh which anyone can insert their own ISEE and calculate exactly the all-inclusive tuition fees.
The regional tax for the right to education and stamp duty must be added to all-inclusive tuition fees.
Procedure
To apply for an economic subsidy, you should perform the following operations:
- enroll for the a.y. 2021/2022 by paying the first instalment of fees;
- obtain the ISEE certification for financial aid for the right to university study without omissions/non conferomities flagged by the Revenue Agency (if there are omissions/non conformities, they must be resolved within the deadlines);
- fill and submit the benefit request in your reserved area.
You should carry out said operations according the following deadlines:
- 30th September 2021 all previous operations without paying arrears;
- 10th December 2021 enrollment for the first academic year by paying arrears, and submitting the ISEE certification and benefits request by paying EUR 50.00 by 17th December 2021;
- 17th December 2021, all the previous operations without arrears only if you are a transfer student or you register for the first year of a master’s degree programme;
- 31st March 2022, without arrears, if you have withdrawn your degree application.
Requirements
To benefit from the above-mentioned subsidies, the following requirements should be met:
- completion of operations described under point 1, 2, and 3 of the above-mentioned procedure;
- if you are enrolled in a bachelor’s degree programme you must not have another degree, either under the old system (even prior to DM 509/1999) or under the new system, whether obtained in Italy or abroad, or a diploma issued by the Conservatory/Fine Arts Academy, or a three-year first-level diploma issued under Italian law no. 508/1999;
- if you are enrolled in a master’s degree programme, you must not have another degree obtained prior to DM 509/1999, specialist degree, or master’s degree, obtained either in Italy or abroad, a diploma issued by the Conservatory/Fine Arts Academy, or a two-year second level diploma issued under Italian law no. 508/1999;
- you must not still be enrolled in a degree programme under the old system prior to DM no. 509/1999.
Instalments
The first installment of 700.00 euros includes:
- the regional tax for financial aid of 173.00 EUR;
- stamp duty of 16.00 EUR;
- all inclusive tuition fee.
If you belong to one of the following categories, you may pay the regional tax for financial aid and 16.00 EUR stamp duty only at the time of enrolment:
- student beneficiary or the child of beneficiaries of a disability pension, established by art.12 of Italian Law 118/71, as provided for by art.30 of the same law;
- foreign students beneficiary of a scholarship from the Italian Government under the development cooperation programs;
- students having a refugee status and subsidiary protection status.
The total payment of the first instalment for newcomers and returning students must be paid by 30th September 2021.
Penalty surcharge
Late payment involves the following penalty surcharges:
- 50.00 EUR for payment of the first instalment from 1 October 2021 to 30 October 2021;
- 100.00 EUR for payment of the first instalment from 31st October 2021 onwards.
The second instalment is 500.00 Euros.
The second instalment should be paid by 10th December 2021.
Penalty surcharge
Late payment involves the following penalty surcharges:
- 50.00 EUR for the payment of the second instalment from 11 December 2021 to 20 December 2021;
- 100.00 EUR for the payment of the second instalment from 21 December 2021 onwards.
The third instalment, if required, is the difference between the maximum amount and the amount paid with the first and second instalments. It will be invoiced in April 2022.
The third instalment should be paid by 16th May 2022.
Penalty surcharge
Late payment will involve the following penalty surcharges
- 50.00 EUR for the payment of the third instalment from 17 May 2022 to 26 May 2022;
- 200.00 EUR for the payment of the third instalment from 27 May 2022 onwards.
Withdrawal or forfeiture
Withdrawal or forfeiture involves payment of the full amount of the maximum tuition fees or the fees calculated on the basis of your merit/income (if you are entitled to financial aid) and losing the right to an eventual refund.

If you are eligible for/beneficiary of scholarship for the right to education, you must in any case contact the Financial Aid and Disability Unit.
Students graduating in the autumn/extraordinary session
If you have paid the first and the second instalment for the new academic year and you graduate in the autumn session (October/December) or in extraordinary session (February/April) of the previous year, these will be refunded automatically (excluding the stamp duty and the regional tax for the right to education) in the summer only by payment to the University CartaConto. If you are graduating in the extraordinary session and you are eligible for/beneficiary of scholarship for the right to education, you must in any case contact the Financial Aid and Disability Unit.
Tax deduction of tuition fees
You can deduct the expenses resulting from enrolment in university programmes when making your income statement. Deductible expenses include tuition fees for students enrolling on Bachelor’s Degree Programmes or Master’s Degree Programmes.
Monitoring payment status
Log on to your Personal Area in www.unive.it (select Student Services Office > Payments) to check:
- status of payments;
- amount due.
