Verification and fulfillment of OFA (Additional Learning Requirements)

To access the degree programme, a basic understanding of mathematics, abstraction, methodological accuracy and an understanding of English at level B1, at least, is required.

The TOLC-I test acts as validation for basic understanding of mathematics, abstraction, and methodological accuracy: if you obtain at least 17/41 (with 0.1 to the scientific section and excluding the English section) the educational requirements (OFA) will be considered as fulfilled.

Regarding knowledge of English language, students whom have achieved one of the certificates verified by the university are excluded from the obligation to verify their understanding of English. The list of linguistic certificates, cases of exemption for verification and the process of verification are described in the specific web page.

Unsuccessful fulfillment of OFA

Students that do not fulfill their OFA in B1 English language and mathematics logic between the exam session in September to enrolment at the following year cannot take exams until the attributed OFAs have been fulfilled.

Students that have enrolled in a subsequent year to their first, such as in cases of transfer, internal paths or matriculation with credit recognition, should have fulfilled the OFA by the time they are enrolled: they cannot take exams until they have fulfilled them nor may they participate in the eligibility tests organized for freshers.

Obtaining your place

The candidates who will take the TOLC-I and are regularly registered in the selection procedure will be assigned available places.

The candidate’s position in the ranking list depends on their results in the TOLC-I as follows:

Score OFA Result
at least 17/41 fulfilled priority placing
less than 17/41 not fulfilled second placing

Attention! Calculating the score will be carried out weighting 0.1 point for the science section and without taking into consideration the English section.

Candidates with fulfilled OFA will receive the notification of the place within ten working days after registration to the selection procedure at Ca’ Foscari. In that case you will have to accept your place following the modalities and deadlines once you will receive the confirmation email.

Candidates with unfulfilled OFA will obtain a place only after the candidates with a fulfilled OFA have enrolled and if there are remaining places. In that case, if you want to improve your score, you can take the test again within the deadlines.

Accepting your place and matriculation

Accepting your place coincides with registration and involves two steps:

  • Completion of the enrolment application form online: you must access the Personal Area of the university website with your SPID account and select, within the ‘Secretary’ menu, ‘Immatricolazione ai corsi ad accesso programmato’ (Enrolment onto a limited admissions programme). Once you have selected the “modifica” button, you will have to update the data on your highschool diploma (if you have applied as a graduand) and to upload the required documents.
  • Payment of the first installment of the tuition fees and university taxes: The payment must be carried out using the PagoPA system, clicking on the payment button when finishing the registration procedure.

If you do not pay before the deadline indicated above, you will lose the right to enrol: for questions on any aspect of the process, please contact the registration office before the deadline.

The first installment of university fees will not be refunded once the registration has been paid for and completed.

Deadlines

Candidates with fulfilled OFA who successfully placed in the ranking list will have to complete their enrollment application and to pay the first installment of tuition fees between July 3rd and October 2nd 2023.

Candidates with unfulfilled OFA who successfully placed in the ranking list from October 3rd 2023 will have to complete their enrolment application and to pay the first installment of tuition fees before October 31st 2023.

If you do not pay before the deadline indicated above, you will lose the right to enrol: for questions on any aspect of the process, please contact the registration office before the deadline.

Attention! If you are interested in applying to the International College, you must pay attention to the specific deadlines indicated in the call for applications.

Processing registration form

Accepting the place and payment of the first installment does not mean that the student is automatically enrolled. Enrolment will be developed by the Enrolment Unit and communicated via email.

For students who have obtained a degree outside Italy, enrolment will be possible only after the pre-evaluation procedure. For more information please contact the Welcome Unit.
