From May 17 to November 24, 2019, the Ca’ Foscari Economics Campus will host MENTAL RECYCLING an interactive and immersive exhibition by Science Gallery Venice, aimed at promoting projects with strong social responsibility inspired by the Italian Movement for Ethical Art, according to which the artist must have an impact by being the spokesperson for ethical, social and human thoughts that can help build a better world around people.

MENTAL RECYCLING means training to differentiate, eliminating false or useless news, notions and provocations that deflect or clog the human mind, to make room for thoughts inspired by values and content that promote social commitment and social inclusion. It means building a shield of wisdom that will protects us from attacks from commercial, political, social, ethnic or religious propaganda, starting a meticulous distinction between the information we are bombarded with on a daily basis. It means developing critical filters active in protecting our minds and our health to make us more and more independent.

According to the curator, Sandro Orlandi Stagl, “In a world that is changing faster and faster, with increasingly rapid global interconnectedness, ideas, projects, technologies and progress in general, propagate at a speed that exceeds the speed of the equal dissemination of ethics, necessary to manage them in such a way that economic interests do not prevail over the environment and people. Today, ethics enters every sector: banking, business, university, finance, politics, the public administration and so on, precisely because people feel the need to make the progress sustainable.

MENTAL RECYCLING features six artworks by artists of the Ethical Art Movement, exploring the relation between art and economics, geopolitics and the environment and the role of artists in shaping a better future.

The exhibition is in collaboration with ARTantide.com
