Knowing Islam and promoting integration. Ca' Foscari has put together its expertise at the service of the education project of work-linked training that involved students from a class of the Marco Polo Artistic high school in collaboration with the Islamic Community of Venice.

Cristina Tonghini, professor of the Department of Asian and North African Studies and expert of islamic art history and mosque history, has met with students and held courses on the history of the islamic world. A greatly appreciated encounter: "I met kids who were interested and very curious, who wanted to know and discover the history of Islam and its rites. They proved a great openness to this culture".

The project continued by decorating an hypothetical mosque with the support of an architect. The exhibit is hosted at the Gruppo Association's headquarters in via Piave, from June 6th to June 9th.

"University is a local cultural reference and one should explore and discover different cultures - concludes Cristina Tonghini - thirst for knowledge is a precious tool and I believe that University can do a lot to spread knowledge".
