1. Please provide a brief outline of your training and scientific activity.

I am a profesor-tutor at UNED-Asturias. I have a degree in Journalism (University of the Basque Country), a degree in Spanish: Language and Literature (University of Burgos) and a PhD in Hispanic Philology (UNED).  My academic research has focused on both literature-press relations (Javier Marías) and contemporary poetry (Jorge Luis Borges, José Corredor-Matheos, Víctor Botas, Luis Alberto de Cuenca). My most recent book is the collective volume Geography and Literature. Confluences for Teaching Innovation Through a Poetic Anthology (in press). In addition, I coordinate the literary magazine Anáfora. Creación y Crítica.

1. Please state your reasons for choosing Venice and the Department for your research and teaching stay.

The aim of my current research is to deepen into the relationship of the Spanish poet Eloy Sánchez Rosillo (Murcia, 1948) with Giacomo Leopardi's work. To that end, it is mandatory to do research in an Italian university, and the Università Ca 'Foscari Venezia is an excellent institution. Furthermore, with respect to my interest in the Department of Linguistics and Comparative Cultural Studies, I would welcome the chance to share ideas with professor Enric Bou and lecturer Alessandro Mistrorigo, specialists in comparative literature, as well as with lecturer Adrián J. Sáez, who has dedicated part of his research to the Spanish contemporary poetry.

I have had the opportunity to collaborate in writing chapters of two relevant academic books edited and coedited, respectively, by Adrián J. Sáez: Haré un poema de la pura nada: la intertextualidad en la poesía de Luis Alberto de Cuenca (2018) and Las mañanas triunfantes: asedios a la poesía de Luis Alberto de Cuenca (2019), both published by Editorial Renacimiento
