Join Summer@SIE at Ca' Foscari University of Venice for a summer of culture, learning, and exploration! We offer a range of individual summer courses and full summer school programmes designed to expand your knowledge, build your curriculum, and earn university credits.

Tailor your schedule by mixing and matching from a range of short and innovative 15-hour modules, delve into the Italian language, or apply to a comprehensive summer school programme offering full-time studies in a specific area of interest. Many of our courses are deeply connected to the cultural, historical, and artistic heritage of Venice, giving you the chance to study its unique example from different perspectives. Living in Venice

Students coming from abroad receive comprehensive pre-departure arrival information and assistance with the visa process, as well as access to University libraries (open late), cafeterias, wifi, and more. Students can book from a number of accommodation options in the historical city center of Venice or in Mestre on the mainland. Students can contact our office to receive more information regarding this.

General information and policies

Language of instruction

The language of instruction for all Summer Schools is English. At least a B1 level of English language is expected of all applicants.

Credits and final certificate

At the conclusion of the summer courses students will receive a certificate of attendance with final grade (where given).

The credits assigned to each programme are a calculation of ECTS in terms of workload. Most summer courses are worth 3 ECTS, while the Summer School in Contemporary Art and Curatorship is worth 6 ECTS.

Ca’ Foscari students can request credit recognition for a minimum of 6 ECTS through the Summer School office. International students can request a transcript for credit recognition at their home University.

Withdrawal policy

Following enrolment confirmation, students can withdraw from the programme with partial reimbursement up until May 31st. The School will deduct 30% from the enrolment fee for administration purposes. Following May 31st, students who withdraw are not eligible for reimbursement.
